Now that spring is settling in, we turn our thoughts to lighter shoes. One of our favorite looks is white nubuck. Before you have a heart attack, consider that not all bucks are created equal.
The classic white buck blucher or wingtip with red soles is timeless. But if you want to take it up a few notches, consider a custom pair of Edward Green derbys or monk straps in white nubuck.
White is a very crisp look that brightens any outfit. We know from experience that it garners many compliments. So we encourage you to wear your bucks and step out in style.
One of the great things about our visit to the Alden factory in March was seeing two of our makeup shoes in production. They’ve recently arrived just in time for spring and summer.

I’m sure a lot of you are saying WHITE SUEDE! I’ll trash these, good I think they should be worn in, I like to see some wear on these. Of course we want to make sure you’re able to maintain them in a reasonable way with the least amount of effort so we include a white Buck Bag with each pair. Buck bags are filled with crushed chalk so you simply tamp it over the shoes, it powders them white. We also have Nubuck Bars to erase scuffs from your suede and bucks.
Today is such a fine spring day in NYC we thought it a perfect time to feature our newly arrived shoe the Shipley in white deerskin by Church’s English Shoes.
These are incredibly soft and very smart looking. In contrast to traditional white bucks which are normally suede and on a red rubber soles we prefer the clean look of the deerskin and leather soles.
