We’ve received our first delivery of Winkers just ahead of our up coming trunk show with carréducker. These slippers are incredibly comfortable and chic, and can be made up in about seven different fabrics.

We hope you stop by Thursday to see them  along with the rest of the carréducker collection of bespoke shoes.

carréducker Trunk Show

Please join us Thursday November 19th from 12 PM – 7 PM as we host our next trunk show with carréducker. We invite you to come by and meet Deborah Carré & James Ducker, who will be happy to assist and advise you.

Additionally if you’ve never seen hand sewn shoe making before this is an excellent opportunity, as James will be conducting demonstrations throughout the day, it’s fascinating to watch.

Thank you to all those that attended the carréducker trunk show this past Saturday. It was a great privilege to host their first U.S. show. Deborah Carré and James Ducker were wonderful to have here and we look forward to their return in the fall. Hopefully they will ask Leffot to host their show again.

Yesterday’s T The Moment blog on the New York Times on line featured a post by Bruce Pask, Men’s Fashion Director about the shoe making course that carréducker taught this month in Williamsburg (that’s in Brooklyn for those of you that aren’t familiar with New York.) It was by all accounts very successful.

Here are some pictures from the Trunk Show which include hand sewing demonstrations by James:

Carréducker Trunk Show May 9th

If you’re anywhere near the vicinity of the West Village on Saturday May 9th I highly encourage you to come by and view the shoes of carréducker. Both Deborah Carré and James Ducker will be here and James will be demonstrating hand sewing, which in itself is worth the trip. This is the first showing of the carréducker collection in New York City and it promises to be a great event.

To get a sense of their passion for handmade shoe making I recommend watching this video of James in their London studio.

Leffot, is hosting the very first New York Trunk Show for London bespoke shoemakers, carréducker, on Saturday 9 May from 12-6 p.m.

The Carré and Ducker of carréducker – Deborah and James respectively – have an excellent shoemaking pedigree and an expertise and passion for their craft that is unsurpassed. Originally apprenticed to a master shoemaker for John Lobb Ltd., London, for the past ten years they have honed their skills and craftsmanship serving a coterie of private clients from Australia to LA. Self-confessed guardians of the handsewn shoemaking trade, the duo are also bringing their prestigious shoemaking school to New York – a rare opportunity where, over three weeks – with blood, sweat and tears – students hand craft a pair of shoes.
Like many successful design teams, carréducker perfectly complement one another. Deborah has a design and marketing background – she is a QEST* scholar with a first class Hons degree in fashion design and is a visiting lecturer at the University of the Arts London – and James has honed his expertise and craftsmanship in Barcelona and as a maker for John Lobb Ltd. It is this unique combination which, according to their customers, delivers an unparalleled attention to detail and gives their shoes a unique style; blending artisan skills with design expertise.

The carréducker Trunk Show is an exciting event for New York shoe connoisseurs, as Leffot owner, Steven Taffel explains, “This trunk show will not only give our customers a taste of an exciting new talent, but with shoemaking master classes being held throughout the day, an insight into the rarefied world of the craftsmen responsible for the shoes that they are so passionate about.”

“This event fits so well with our ethos. We believe that men are just as passionate about their shoes as women, but for them it is not just the fit and look of a pair of shoes, but the very creation of them that sets their hearts pounding. That’s why we carry only shoemaker brands, rather than designer brands, to offer West Village men an eclectic mix of the very best luxury men’s shoes around right on their doorstep.”
