One of our favorite shoes in the whole wide world is the Edward Green double monk strap shoe, Westminster. It’s a very elegant, and versatile a shoe that looks great with anything from suits to jeans.

Gaziano & Girling Hayes

The Gaziano & Girling Hayes is one of the brands most popular models. The combination of clean sharp lines and diamond perforations make this U throat oxford a winner.

This time around we choose to have them made in Vintage Rioja calfskin, a deep wine color as the name suggests. It’s an ideal color to wear with blues, grays, and dare we say even black.

Edward Green Galway

The Galway is a most classic English Country Boot, yet quite urbane by today’s standards. Combining a shaft supple Walnut Country Calf and the forefoot of smooth Dark Oak calfskin with Dainite soles and a smart tapered round toe, these shoes glide easily between dress and casual occasions. Wear them with a suit when the morning weather is sub-par or on a snowy Saturday stroll.

Boots don’t have to be rugged to get the job done but they do need to be well made and Edward Green makes them as good as they get.

Abbeyhorn Shoehorns

Abbeyhorn hand carved shoehorns are carved from Oxen horn. Each horn is uniquely different due to its color and texture. The process requires considerable skill of the horn worker from the first cut of the horn to ensure that the resultant shoehorn becomes a much-cherished item. Therefore the carver must work with the horn while carving to bring out the special quality of each, and no two are exactly alike.

The Stag shoehorn features a handle made of stag antler for a solid grip. The dauber brushes are carved from bone and come in two color bristles. They’re excellent for applying polish to those hard to reach areas. And lastly this handsome brush with inlaid horn is ideal for shining shoes or for use as a clothes brush.

Edward Green Dover

If you are to own just one Edward Green model, it should be this one. The Dover is a shoe made for just about any occasion you can think of, unmatched in simplicity, elegance, and understatement.

Its permanent style and impressive longevity are a result of the meticulous process of its creation. Tales of its handsewn apron and reverse split toe are legendary and rightfully so. Each is sewn by expert craftsmen who use pigs bristles rather than metal needles. The preparation of the thread itself is a major undertaking combining several long strands and bonding them with wax then splitting the end of the bristle and lashing the thread to it.

So much of what goes into finely crafted shoes is taken for granted. It’s difficult to appreciate the level of skill, time and artisan-ship it takes to produce a pair if you haven’t seen it first hand. It’s remarkable really that in today’s high tech, automated world there are products which are still made by way of tradition. Something’s are best left unchanged.

This particular Dover tends towards the casual side, utilizing sturdy Walnut Country Calf and hard-wearing Dainite soles. The result is a beautiful, classic shoe fit for everyday, no-nonsense wear.

Wolverine 721 LTD Boot #1 Auction for Japanese Tsunami Relief

Wolverine and Leffot are pleased to present an auction of the #1 pair of Wolverine 721 LTD boots to benefit GlobalGiving’s project helping orphans in Japan rebuild their lives post-tsunami.

The limited edition 721 LTD boot is based on a Wolverine archival pattern and made from Horween Leather Company’s Color 8 shell cordovan.  Only 1,000 hand-numbered pairs were released worldwide along with certificates of authenticity.
