This is the Keats and like the rest of the models it takes the name of an English poet. This is a very dapper wingtip with its W shaped Adelaide and winged heel to balance the front. AS offers three lasts which to choose from AS53 square toe, AS48 soft square and AS19 rounded more of an almond toe. Each model can be produced on any of the lasts. In addition you may personalize your shoes by having your name written inside or by adding your initials to the soles; it’s a very nice touch. We have a range of full and half size try on pairs for fitting purposes, which is a definite advantage when placing an MTO. Chay Cooper who runs the Handgrade program at Sargent’s has been fantastic to work with and has bent over backwards to accommodate our clients. He also writes a blog, which you can link to here.

Lead times are 10-12 weeks depending on production schedules and if at all possible they will try to reduce that. Most models can be crafted TD which features a tighter and pronounced beveled waist, spade soles and finely turned edges at the waist. Edward Green shoes are oh so sweet, which makes Top Drawer the icing on the cake.

I love this color combination; it’s stylish, versatile and can be worn year around. My first choice for spectators is usually a wingtip but the Cadogan is perhaps the best of the cap toes in the EG collection. I’ll be giving serious thought about adding a pair to my stable.

Spectators tend to work best with shoes that have an odd number of leather pieces, three or five being the optimal numbers. In this case three Black and two Maple. If your not comfortable wearing a pair of shoes in two colors remember that spectators can be the same color in different materials such as leather and suede, Scotch grain or twill. We love spectators; yes they’re less formal but they’re extremely stylish, and guaranteed to garner favorable comments. I’m quite certain Mr. R in Indianapolis will receive many in this pair.
