As the name implies the Wolverine Northman boots are for serious winter weather. The boots are made in Big Rapids, MI to military specifications. I lived in MI and trust me they know a thing or two about winter.

These rugged cowhide boots are made with Gore-Tax® breathable and waterproof membrane, which allows perspiration to escape but does not let water in. In addition a layer of Thinsulate® will keep your dogs warm well below freezing. Surprising light and comfortable, your feet will have no problem standing for extended periods even while ice fishing.

No you probably won’t wear these to the office but when push comes to shove and the winter settles in you’ll be dry & warm in a pair of Northman.

The limited edition 721 LTD boot is based on a Wolverine archival pattern and made from Horween Leather Company’s Color 8 shell cordovan. Only 1,000 hand-numbered pairs were released worldwide along with certificates of authenticity. Bids for the #1 pair, a men’s size 10D, will be accepted from December 13th-22nd, 2011 at donations.ebay.com.

The Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot collection, is comprised of archival and reinterpreted classics from the 128 year history of this Rockford, Michigan based boot maker.

Starting with the re-issue of the Original 1000 Mile boot in the fall of 2009 right up to the introduction of the Addison, Original – Women’s and the 721 LTD in Horween Shell Cordovan these boots continue to grow in popularity.

We currently carry several models in a range of colors and sizes, here’s a quick run down of what’s in stock.

The 721 LTD made in the USA features Horween Color 8 Shell cordovan; this boot is limited to 1000 pairs for worldwide distribution. Each hand-numbered pair is wrapped in a felt bag and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and basswood shoetrees.

The Wolverine 1000 Mile boots are still kicking and the Addison in Tan Inferno is an excellent color for summer.

Inferno is a leather produced by Horween Leather Company and is lightweight and supple. It develops a nice rich aged look with wear and conditioning.

The Japanese magazine Free & Easy is the definitive publication for American traditional wears from motorcycles, to watches and fashion. Their articles and editorials have helped lay the groundwork for the current rebirth of American classics. The January 2011 issue features boots and in particular Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots. The staff dropped by Leffot in November for a visit and a chat.

We’re long time readers of Free & Easy and we couldn’t be more pleased to be included in this issue. If you’re looking for a copy in the U.S. contact the Kinokuniya bookstore in New York they’ve just received them and are around $20.

Wolverine 721 LTD

A great launch event for the Wolverine 721 LTD boots, a good time was had by all. The boots were the star of the evening and for good reason, they’re awesome. Not just incredibly good-looking these boots are classic and reminiscent of days gone they’re also incredibly comfortable.

The 721′s are made from Horween color 8-shell cordovan and based on a model from the archives. The shaft and tongue are unlined shell, which is great because it’s softer and suppler around the ankle and instep. They’re surprisingly lightweight and flexible and offer great support under your feet. As with all cordovan boots the more you wear them the better they look.

Wolverine is only making 1,000 pairs of these and each are hand numbered and includes Basswood shoetrees and a certificate of authenticity. If you’re looking for old school style and comfort these boots are just the ticket.
