G&G No Strings Attached

April 9th, 2010

Two very handsome Gaziano & Girling MTO’s without laces. It’s impossible to over state how elegant the shoes of Messrs Gaziano & Girling are, and yet trying them only enhances the experience a thousand fold. Both of these shoes are super chic; perhaps its time to add some G&G’s without laces to our stock collection.

Feeling Hazy

March 29th, 2010

We received several pairs of Gaziano & Girling MTO’s. The Hayes has always been a popular model; something about the Adelaide throat and clean line makes this a particularly versatile and sophisticated shoe. These two pairs are slightly different from each other but both are fine examples of the extraordinary shoe making of Gaziano & Girling.

This pair was modified by continuing the punching around the top line of the shoes. We also requested a different toe medallion, which swoops out further along the side of the toe box.

Black & Tan

March 28th, 2010

I saw an interesting article in Men’s Ex magazine, where they took the laces out of a pair of black cap toe oxfords and replaced them with tan laces.

I decided to try it here, and chose the Gaziano & Girling, Oxford for the lace exchange. I think it looks pretty cool. It’s an interesting and simple way to change the look of a black shoe. The laces I used are a flat wax lace, which have a dressier look.

I would wear these with a black or dark gray suit with either a shirt, tie or pocket square that picks up the color of the laces.

Note: I tried this with several styles and brands; I found it to look best with  plain or cap toes. Brogues looked to busy but I guess it’s a matter of taste. I always feel less is more, and this is about a subtle twist. Other colors could look equally good but the key is to play off the laces with some other accessory.

“The” Oxford

February 21st, 2010

The Gaziano & Girling Oxford is an elegant cap toe that has been a staple since day one. We just received a small reorder of this most classic of shoes.

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a hunred times no RTW shoe fits and supports the foot like a G&G shoe, period.

New Gaziano & Girling Stock Shoes

February 11th, 2010

Two new Gaziano & Girling’s models have arrived. Both are very handsome and feature the narrow waist and fiddle back soles which is the hallmark of G&G. Sophisticated, and stylish in colors that are rich and versatile, Gaziano & Girling’s mission is to create a bespoke aesthetic in a ready to wear shoe. The styling is pure Tony Gaziano, and the craftsmanship is every bit of Dean Girling. We tip or hat to you gentleman, mission accomplished.

G&G MTO’s

January 15th, 2010

Tony Gaziano and Dean Girling’s shoes just keep getting better; their shoes are beautifully crafted and sophisticated.  Yes they take time but once they arrive it’s like the feeling you get when you finally scratch an itch you couldn’t reach. Those who have endured the wait for a pair of G&G know what I mean.

Take a close look at the beautiful tight waist and fiddle back soles that are the hallmark of Gaziano & Girling. It’s not something found on other RTW shoes.

Gaziano & Girling Burnham MTO

November 24th, 2009

The Gaziano & Girling Burnham is a wholecut Chelsea boot. Wholecuts are very handsome and comfortable because they’re made from a single piece of leather and have no seams. They’re also much more labor intensive to produce. The owner of this pair had them made up to wear on his motorcycle, thus the Scotch Grain upper and Ridgeway soles.

Gaziano & Girling offers three Scotch Grains the finest being Pin Grain, then Highland, and finally Arran which is the deepest. Once the leather is stretched over the last the grain smoothes out quite a bit. It’s particularly nice on this wholecut. The grain adds a subtle texture and a slightly more rugged look which works well with the heavy lug soles.

The Wingtips

October 14th, 2009

Gaziano & Girling wingtips have an elegance to them that many wingtips lack. I think these two models bear that point out very nicely.
