The Addison 1000 Mile Boot

March 11th, 2010

Inspired by the work-shoe first built by founder G.A. Krause nearly 100 years ago Wolverine’s 1000 Mile Boot is a boot for the Everyman.  The new 1000 mile boot made its debut in the fall of 2009 and there’s been no looking back. The next 1000 miles begins soon, with the introduction of the Addison. Like it’s sibling the “Original” the Addison is a heritage boot that is faithful to its forefather.

Our 1000 Mile boots are made in the USA with Genuine Horween Chromexcel leather uppers, and classic welt construction. Whether you work hard or play hard these boots can take it. They’re built well, they’re built to last.

Chukk It

March 6th, 2010

A glorious weekend of mild weather is in store and I can’t help feeling spring is close at hand. I don’t want to jinx it but it has been a brutal winter. Time to kick off the heavy boots and slip into something more comfortable, such as a pair of unlined suede chukka boots.

The Sahara 3 by Church’s is Goodyear welted on natural plantation crepe soles, which makes them extremely comfortable and stylish.

403 Indy Boot

March 3rd, 2010

We’ve received our first delivery of Alden’s new 403 stock Indy Boots. These boots are the same authentic Alden work boots you have known and loved. The 403 is made on the Trubalance last with Brown Chromexcel uppers, supple glove leather linings. Horween Chromexcel is excellent leather and looks great on these boots.

Rider Boots Looking Good

February 28th, 2010

I love email feedback form clients, especially when you can feel their joy.

Steven,
Within the last hour I have received three compliments about my new Rider boots.  First a stranger who I sat next to on the subway.  Second a woman I encountered while seated in a lobby, again a stranger.  Third a fellow I have known slightly for a number of years with whom I am having a meeting.

I understand that “Never Boast” is Leffot’s motto, but these new Riders are putting that in jeopardy.

All the best,

Dr Jim

Church’s, Inside The Walls

February 25th, 2010

Church’s is one of the largest if not “the” largest shoe manufacturer in Northampton, England. Founded in 1873 by Thomas Church and his three sons, there has been a family member involved in the business since then, until last year that is when Prada became the sole owner.

In spite of the change of ownership the shoes are still made in the same factory that Church’s has been in since 1957. Far more than the ownership it is the employees that breath life into a company and its products. I enjoyed this video because it captures the sincerity and professionalism of the men and women that produce these very solid English shoes.

Leffot’s “Exclusive J.C. Indy Boots”

February 23rd, 2010

The first delivery of our “Exclusive J.C. Indy Boots” arrived and went out in short order, actually all pairs were pre-reserved as are the next order for spring. We are extremely pleased with the way these boots came out and we owe a huge debt of gratitude to our very good client Mr. J.C. whom these were named after.

Our “Exclusive J.C. Indy Boots” are on the Trubalance last in Cigar shell cordovan with Commando soles and 360º welts, medium stained sole and heel edges, five invisible eyelets and four speed hooks. In our humble opinion these are the most outstanding Indy Boots ever, but hey we’re biased.

Edward Green Celebrates 120

February 22nd, 2010

Edward Green the venerable English shoemaker marks their 120th anniversary in 2010. To put some historical perspective on this achievement 1890 also saw the publication of  “The Picture of Dorian Grey” Idaho, and Wyoming were admitted as the 43rd and 44th states, the New Scotland Yard opened, and Nellie Bly completed her round-the-world journey in 72 days. Not only was an extraordinary shoe company born so were Stan Laurel, Jelly Roll Morton, Dwight Eisenhower, Groucho Marx, Charles de Gaulle, Agatha Christie, and Harlan Sanders (The Colonel). That is some very impressive company and one helluva run, bully for you Edward Green.

For over a century Edward Green has maintained it’s exceedingly high standards of quality, craftsmanship and a reputation of producing the finest shoes in England “For the discerning few” an accomplishment not to be taken lightly.

In celebration of this milestone Edward Green has introduced the first of its 120th Anniversary Limited Edition models the Sandhurst, a classic English derby that has been culled from the archives. This Limited Edition model will be offered only during 2010 with each pair hand numbered and packaged in special anniversary boxes.

“The” Oxford

February 21st, 2010

The Gaziano & Girling Oxford is an elegant cap toe that has been a staple since day one. We just received a small reorder of this most classic of shoes.

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a hunred times no RTW shoe fits and supports the foot like a G&G shoe, period.
