The Reverse Fold

August 29th, 2010

We’re really pleased with the Fold shell cordovan money holder; it’s elegant, simple and as low tech as you can get. Cordovan is very supple leather and develops a wonderful patina over time.

We thought you might like to know that as beautiful as the finished side is the Fold can also be used on the reverse side. I recently began using my color 6 Fold reversed. I like the look of the cordovan on the inside when I open it, as well as the natural finish on the outside; I’m interested to see how the backside will age. It’s all about options.

The Fold

August 14th, 2010

A wise old gambler once said, “You got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em”. Sage advice no doubt and exactly what our new billfolds are all about.

These svelte sheaths are about as low tech as you can get, just a single piece of Horween shell cordovan, three folds, and voila your cash is snugly secured in horse ass leather for safekeeping.

Billfolds are available in two sizes; small for $$$ and large for €, £ and ¥ plus a credit card or two. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Small 2.5″ x 2.75″ Folded / Color 6, Natural, Color 8 – $95

Large 2.5″ x 3.5″ Folded / Color 8, Natural - $120

Leather crafter Basil Racuk has a cool new Bi-Fold Document case. This piece was commissioned by one of our clients at the last trunk show. It’s made in British Tan calf and outfitted with brown pinstriped wool, hand stained leather and personalized with the client’s name inside.

This case is great looking and functional, and a perfect companion to the new Soft Brief.

Horns

June 22nd, 2010

Abbeyhorn hand carved shoehorns are carved from Oxen horn. Each horn is uniquely different due to its color and texture. The process requires considerable skill of the horn worker from the first cut of the horn to ensure that the resultant shoehorn becomes a much-cherished item. Therefore the carver must work with the horn while carving to bring out the special quality of each, and no two are exactly alike.

We have received a reorder of these beautiful shoehorns plus a few new items. The Stag shoehorn features a handle made of stag antler for a solid grip. The dauber brushes are carved from bone and come in two color bristles. They’re excellent for applying polish to those hard to reach areas. And lastly this handsome brush with inlaid horn is ideal for shining shoes or for use as a clothes brush.

You wear quality shoes why shouldn’t you have quality accessories to go along with them?

Long Horn $105 – 18 inches

Stag Handle $120 – 16 inches

Medium Horn $70 – 12 inches

Small Horn $35 – 7.5 inches

Daubers $15 Brush $90 6.5 inches

*No animals are ever killed solely for the horn; they are a by-product of the meat industry.

During our recent trunk show with Basil Racuk I placed an order for a bag for myself. It arrived today and I couldn’t be happier with it. I love the simplicity, the leather and the color. This is a bag I’ll carry everyday and look forward to it getting a little wear on it. All Basil Racuk bags are handmade so no two are exactly alike.
