A Wing And A Prayer

I recently took stock of my personal shoe collection and came to the startling realization I am obsessed with WINGTIPS! I have no less than 8 pairs in some form or another, and more to come I’m quite sure. Here they are in no particular order.

Gaziano & Girling Mitchell TG73 Last Vintage Maple

Alden Greenwich Boot Barrie Last Navy Oiled Nebuc

Church’s Grafton 173 Last Sandalwood Polished Binder

Gaziano & Girling Astaire DG70 Last Brown Pin Grain & Brown Suede

Alden Longwing Barrie Last Tan Suede

Church’s Sidford 103 Last Black & White Calf

Steve, that’s a really nice collection. Indeed, I have the same problem. However, I realized that I have so many because I wear them with jeans all the time. Wing tips and jeans = great combination. It can’t be helped!

Coleslaw, I never thought of it that way but now that you mention it, it makes perfect sense.

you have so many wingtips because they are such a beautiful style that is timeless. I also have this weakness for wingtips and am always intrigued when i see new variations of a wingtip and want to get them. I also agree with coleslaw, when paired with jeans you can create a great outfit!

I’ve been dreaming about a pair of suede or nubuck Alden longwings. I’ve been meaning to call you and do a MTO for a long time now Steve.

Hello, Steven: The Alden LWBs in tan suede… What kind of soles? Are they the flex soles? Are you stocking these? Thanks. Sal

Just wondering if Edward Green makes the Falkirk 202 model in burnt pine and linen.
    Or is that MTO?

    David,
The Falkirk with linen would be MTO.
