Corthay Flambé

It’s been raining in New York for the past three days. Everything looks dull and gray, but today we had a ray of sunshine delivered in a shoebox sent from Pierre Corthay. The master shoemaker that brought us the Ultimate Wilfrid brightened our day with this, his latest creation.

Corthay Sade 001 Last Ardillat Calf, Flaming Croc – MTO*

*MTO footwear is not part of our stock lines they are Made To Order.

Bold fashion statement certainly, maybe even approaching the top, but not over it!

Steven, thank you for the compliment, but it is really M. Corthay and the brilliant colorists on his staff who deserve the praise! BTW, I am wearing the bronze verte Bucy’s today to great acclaim. Thank you for all your assistance and I look forward to obtaining more pairs in the years to come.

Gents, with all due respect the photos do not reflect the elegance, beauty and craftsmanship. I was lucky enough to be there when Steven opened the box and I was overwhelmed. The leather is pristine with no marks at all and the red accent on the shoe just screams high taste level. I’ve seen too many shoes in my day but this was a unique surprise. Wear in great health and taste Mr R.

With all the respect I have for the craftmanship that went into this, and although the color might well be a real tour-de-force, I can’t help but think this is just simply atrocious. :-/

It’s a real shame to put so much knowledge and know-how into something that vulgar… I hope the picture really isn’t good and the shoe is better in real.

Anyway, it’s my first comment here, and it’s a negative one, although I have to say I really enjoy this blog and, should I ever go to NYC, I wouldn’t miss your shop.

    Charles, from Europe.
