More than 125 years ago, Wolverine founder G.A. Krause built a company on a dream of creating finely crafted footwear using the best materials of the time. The Wolverine 1,000 Mile shoe was created in a time when men were looking for authentic craftsmanship and footwear that would last. Advertised as comfortable enough to “give you 1,000 miles of wear,” the shoe became a wardrobe staple for men of the 20th century.

The next 1,000 Miles have been laid, introducing the “Addison” for July 2010. 125 years after the first 1,000 Mile shoes debuted Wolverine continues to create finely crafted footwear using the best materials of the time. Made of Genuine Horween Chromexcel these boots are as comfortable as the day is long and built to take whatever you can throw at them.

The Double Monk strap is such a versatile shoe, smart with jeans or cords, yet sophisticated with a suit. This is a must have shoe one that belongs in every man’s wardrobe. The Edward Green Westminster epitomizes this classic English look, simple lines, a smart cap toe, and solid straps and buckles, what more can you ask for, except possibly more colors. If you add one shoe to your wardrobe this year I strongly encourage you to make it a Double Monk, you can thank us later.

The Alden All Weather Walker is one of the most wearable shoes around. Perfect in wet weather, incredibly comfortable on double plantation crepe soles, and a simple classic design.
Chromexcel is a fantastic leather, full grain yet supple and extremely durable. It’s called pull up leather, which refers to the way the color pigments change were the shoe bends, they just get better looking with age.

We’re pleased to announce our recent collaboration with Northern Californian bag maker Basil Racuk. These bags are urban, sophisticated, well-made and simply thoughtful in design. Basil’s philosophy is “Branding is no longer relevant in the way that we’ve come to expect it over the past 10+ years, and should therefore be eliminated whenever possible.” Because of this, there is no visible marking on the exterior of his products. We like that.
Sourcing domestic hides, Racuk prefers waxed cow, supple pebbled deer and buffalo leathers for his unstructured, raw designs. Cut and sealed edges with minimal stitching and subtle hardware fastenings add a finishing touch without distracting from the material. Every item is handmade to order by Basil in his workshop near Berkeley, CA.
The Basil Racuk collection is currently available at Leffot.

This is market week in New York, which means a lot of running around to visit vendors, thus the lag in updates here. As today was our appointment with Edward Green I thought it was appropriate to post my new MTO Falkirk’s. I have yet to wear these but I’m chomping at the bit to do so.

Tony Gaziano and Dean Girling’s shoes just keep getting better; their shoes are beautifully crafted and sophisticated. Yes they take time but once they arrive it’s like the feeling you get when you finally scratch an itch you couldn’t reach. Those who have endured the wait for a pair of G&G know what I mean.
Take a close look at the beautiful tight waist and fiddle back soles that are the hallmark of Gaziano & Girling. It’s not something found on other RTW shoes.

We first met Jonathan and Mindy in October when this charming couple came in looking for shoes for Jonathan to wear to their wedding at the breathtaking Riverside Farms in Pittsfield, VT. Jonathan was already well into the process of having his English “country-wedding suit” made up by the venerable Alex Wilcox at Lord Willy’s.
Naturally a country wedding and country suit called for country footwear, which in this case came in the form of the perfect English country boot, the Edward Green Galway.
Congratulations Jonathan and Mindy you both looked fantastic, and a big thank you for sharing your special day with us.
