Borsalino At Leffot

April 30th, 2009

Mom always said, “Keep your head covered in the sun”, and what better way to do that than with a summer hat by premier Italian hat maker Borsalino. New to Leffot we have selected three new hats that are fun, classic and made by the venerable company that has been producing hats since Giuseppe Borsalino opened his first workshop in 1857.

We are pleased to offer the following styles for men and women, all hats Made in Italy:

The Ecuadorian Panama (Think Charlie Chan)

The Black and White Eco Friendly Hat woven from paper by-product

The Flexible Small Brim Canapa (Hemp) Cocoa and White (Sold Out)

All hats can be worn with the front brim up or down, for me it’s always up.

The Shoes In The Window

April 18th, 2009

Today is such a fine spring day in NYC we thought it a perfect time to feature our newly arrived shoe the Shipley in white deerskin by Church’s English Shoes.

These are incredibly soft and very smart looking. In contrast to traditional white bucks which are normally suede and on a red rubber soles we prefer the clean look of the deerskin and leather soles.

This Is The Way We Lace Our Shoes

April 13th, 2009

I thought I would share this illustration from the current LAST magazine with you. There are many ways to lace your shoes, the parallel, the over wrap, the under wrap, all are perfectly acceptable but at Leffot we prefer the single method, why? Because it looks neat, well groomed and also holds the shoes snugly in place.

The text of the article explains that basically any of these methods are acceptable for business dress.
